EDIT: Lightened the image and added more shadowing to the darker areas. Much prefer this version! :D


Drawn for a friends birthday of the mare she rides Aurora - a particularly moody Connemara mare who is full sister to Cirrus (doesn't look or act a thing like him though!) :D

Very Different Shading Technique Than I Usually See But Works Well, It Would Be Better With A Different Colour Background Because It's Difficult To See The Forelock And Mane Lol

Thank you, the black background was intentional; I was going for slightly dramatic shadowing. If your screens a bit dark you won't be able to see it all that well, it's fine on my mac monitor but a tad dark on my pc lol. Ah well... :D

That's beautiful...especially the eye =) the shading is great too... =)
I can't really brighten my monitor at all..I could brighten it like 4% or something. But it looks fine I think, me thinks I can see all the details...this monitor is a Daewoo anyway ;P

Really good , I love how subtle and soft your shading is. What a beautiful eye! I love the black background too , adds lots of depth. :D

I would never guess she was Cirrus' sister! I know a full brother and sister who are brown and chestnut too. :XD:
